Bookings...

50 Ways and Places to get bookings


1. Call your past hostesses and offer them a party with the new catalog
2. Hold a Mystery Host Party! (All customers entered in drawing to receive Host Rewards)
3. Call anyone who said "maybe" or "sometime" 4
4. Exchange shows with demonstrators from other companies, or do a show together and expose her customers to your product and vice versa
5. Host an office party
6. Don’t let a hostess cancel her party, turn it into a book party and ask her to schedule another within a couple of weeks so that she can reap the host booking benefits and hostess rewards.
7. Host a show before a PTA meeting
8. Treat your past hostesses to a Spring Appreciation Tea
9. Ask your relatives and friends
10. Make a list of 100 people and call them all. Tell them you are participating in a challenge to get the most bookings. They will want to help you!
11. Call local realtors and tell them that our candles are the best closing gifts and give them one to try. They are great for burning at open houses too!
12. Let everyone know what you do
13. Be friendly and enthusiastic
14. Follow through with every booking lead
15. Have the hostess at your shows stand up and tell everyone why she decided to host a show
16. Suggest a catalog show if they are reluctant to hold one in their own home
17. Leave your business cards on bulletin boards in local businesses
18. Wear Gold Canyon logowear
19. Always work candles into the conversation when talking to people you meet for the first time 20. Set goals
21. Don't be shy when talking about your products or your business
22. Advertise in school sports programs or in the church bulletin
23. Offer bonuses to hostess who book on certain days
24. “Office in your car” Always have information in your car - catalogs, recruiting info
25. Advertise on your answering machine
26. Freely give out samples - tealights in the little orange boxes with your business cards. Get their info so you can follow up on how they liked the product
27. Leave samples with bank tellers, waitresses, cashiers, etc.
28. Review orders from past shows, maybe they want their holiday candles for FREE
29. Set up a table at a local Spring Craft Fair or Bridal Expo
30. Have your spouse promote your products at work
31. Make sure to enter all email addresses in your GC database so you can send group emails
32. Put an "ask me about...." button on your purse or jacket
33. Ask a local Mens lodge to set up for a Shopping night just for men (Mothers day)
34. Get the signs for your car through Town and Country.
35. Post flyers in apartment buildings (check for No Solicitation signs first)
36. Wear your GC name badge when you go shopping (only when dressed appropriately of course)
37. Carry the catalog bag and use it as your purse
38. Make a goal to give away a set amount of business cards every day
39. Give Novel Scents to the ladies working at the library - staple your business card to the plastic wrap and ask them to put a catalog in their lunchroom
40. Join a club or take a class with the intention of meeting new people and then talk about your business
41. Mention to people that you have a home business - they are curious and will ask you about it every time!
42. Send a letter to companies and offer corporate gift giving
43. Welcome new neighbors with information on our products, a catalog, business card, and a sample
44. Leave your catalogs and information in hospital waiting rooms
45. Attend other home parties and swap information with the other demonstrator and get ideas on how she does her show
46. Hang out at the McDonalds play area with your kids and talk it up to the moms there
47. Have a neighborhood get together with just the ladies
48. When giving catalogs, ask them if they have a card so you can follow-up
49. Describe and highlight the hostess plan, play fun booking games during shows
50. Include a flyer and business card in your bill payments


Spend time every day working on your business and you will soon see it grow. Don't forget to share the business opportunity with everyone you meet. You never know who may be interested in a business of their own.
